While pulling weeds this morning, I realized how much this analogy ties into life. I have noticed these weeds in my flowerbed for a while and due to other circumstances, for whatever reason, I did not have a chance to pull them until today. Finally, this morning, with toddler and dog in tow, I couldn’t take it anymore. I was tired of these weeds choking the beautiful blooming flowers that rightfully resided in this flowerbed.
My focus then shifted to my own life; Then to life in general. How often do we ignore the weeds or negative thoughts in our own lives? How often do we allow them to take over our garden of positive thinking? How often do we feel our ‘weeds’ in life are choking us of our very life source of being? The weeds sometimes sneak in and take root very strongly. Sometimes we do not have the strength or ambition to remove them. When this happens, they grow and multiply; getting stronger in number and requiring more strength to remove. Can you think of an instance in your own life when this has happened? Maybe it is happening right now. We tend to look at all of things going wrong yet we ignore the beauty that exists all around us despite our lack of care for them.
You can’t control where the wind blows or even where the seeds of weeds may land. However, it is an individual choice to remove them from their root or let them grow. Which will you choose?
